New York City has received $3m in state funding to help the city purchase zero emission vehicles – such as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles – and install related infrastructure. The funding announcement was made by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The grants, administrated by the State Department of Environmental Conservation and supported by the state’s Environmental Protection Fund, will advance the Governor’s climate change goals and clean transportation initiatives by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“New York is making tremendous strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from all sectors by transitioning to cleaner power sources,” said Governor Cuomo.
“We are investing in infrastructure and resources to advance and promote the use of zero emission vehicles in communities across the state,” said Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul.
