Doosan Fuel Cell has today (18th March) announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering to jointly develop a megawatt class solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system for eco-friendly marine propulsion and power generation.
The system will be based on Ceres Power Holdings’ proprietary SOFC stack technology and will aim to provide cleaner power for ships.
In October 2020, Doosan and Ceres announced a strategic collaboration and commitment to build a 50MW mass manufacturing facility for Ceres’ fuel cell stacks in South Korea.
