Much of the discussion in 2023 has been aimed at pinpointing hydrogen’s role in the energy transition. While in recent years the so-called ‘hype bubble’ slated the energy carrier as a solution for a wide range of applications, a new-found focus appears to be coming into play.
Throughout the year, Europe has regularly grabbed headlines for its policy tools to bolster the hydrogen industry. As many of its member states just begin to unpack the framework, the Netherlands has made strides in getting moving on hydrogen.
H2 View sat down with Joep Sanderink, Project Manager at New Energy Coalition – a Dutch-based knowledge network made up of some 150 partners and members all aimed at accelerating the energy transition – to hear more about hydrogen’s wider role in the Netherlands and how the country has been able to get the ball rolling.
