Nel has received a purchase order for 40MW of its alkaline electrolyser stacks, valued at €11m ($12.3m), from Portugal’s Bondalti for the first phase of its H2 Enable project.
As one of Portugal’s biggest players in the chemical industry, Bondalti is building an electrolyser plant which will inject green hydrogen into the natural gas grid, supply long-haul transport and support its own hydrogen demand for its chemical processes at the Estarreja Chemical Complex.
Expected to commence production at the start of 2026, Wood has been contracted as EPC for the project’s front-end engineering and design (FEED) study.
