Nedstack Fuel Cell Technology has agreed to deliver a portable hydrogen fuel cell system to with Groeneveldt Marine Construction.
The project will ensure Nedstack’s MPU 20-400-AC, a versatile PEM fuel cell system suited for maritime and mobile uses, will support a sustainable workboat located in the Province of Overijssel, the Netherlands.
The system will serve as an emission-free range extender on board of the workboat, recharging the onboard battery when shore power is unavailable during longer working days. It can also be detached from the ship for various onshore marine applications.
Operating as a standalone unit, the MPU 20-400-AC is capable of autonomous start-ups, forming a 400-volt 50 Hz microgrid, and it can be connected to an existing electricity grid, increasing versatility.
