8,931 – that’s the number of hydrogen fuel cell cars that have been sold and leased in in the US as of 12th January, 2021, the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP) reports on its website.
Looking at California specifically, the latest data shows the sunshine state has 48 hydrogen fuel cell buses in operation and 43 hydrogen stations open.
CaFCP reports that California has seven fuel cell buses and 44 retail hydrogen stations in development.
California Governor Gavin Newsom on Friday (8th Jan) proposed $1.5bn for companies to invest in the construction and maintenance of charging and fuelling infrastructure for zero emission vehicles, such as those powered by hydrogen.
