ScottishPower has today (August 8) revealed it is exploring the opportunity to develop, build and operate a ‘multi-hundred megawatt’ green hydrogen production facility at the UK’s busiest port.
Alongside Hutchinson Ports, ScottishPower says the project at the Port of Felixstowe, Suffolk, has the potential to decarbonise industry and transportation in the region, with both companies having set out a shared vision to create a cleaner port.
H2 View understands plans are being developed to use green hydrogen for applications such as, road, rail, and industrial use, with the potential to create liquid forms including green ammonia and e-methanol and create opportunities for cost-effective export.
