IRENA and the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment (MEME) have signed a strategic partnership to advance knowledge in renewable energy, including hydrogen, to accelerate the energy transition.
This will see the two groups work closely to advance the national green hydrogen economy in Morocco as the country eyes becoming a major green hydrogen producer and exporter.
According to IRENA data, at the end of 2020, the Kingdom of Morocco had a total installed renewable energy capacity of almost 3.5GW.
