Monarch Energy is exploring building a $426m hydrogen production facility with capacity to produce 120 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen per day in Louisiana, US.
The proposed project planned for Ascension Parish would see electrolysers used to produce hydrogen which Monarch intends to be sold as a green feedstock for industrial and chemical processes.
Expecting to make a final investment decision (FID) and begin construction in 2025, the company anticipates commercial operations could commence in 2027.
