MOL, Mitsui to introduce hydrogen fuelled cargo handling machines to Japanese port

MOL Group and Mitsui Machinery will commence a joint study to introduce hydrogen fuel port cargo handling machines at the MOL-operated Kobe International Container Terminal (KCT) in Hanshin, Japan.

As part of this agreement, MOL’s Shosen Koun has signed a contract for a near zero emission (NZE) rubber-tired gantry (RTG) container yard crane and decided to introduce it the terminal.

The NZE RTG will look to increase the spread of a hydrogen supply infrastructure in the future.
