During today’s H2 View Mobility Pillar Special webinar, leading executives from FORVIA, GCK, H2 Energy and Hyvia stressed the importance of hydrogen internal combustion engines (ICE) for short-term sustainability targets.
Rémi Berger, Innovation Director at GCK, told attendees that both hydrogen fuel cell and hydrogen ICE technology can complement each other in the transition to zero-emission mobility.
He said there will be room for both technologies in the short and long term, with fuel cells the ultimate goal for hydrogen mobility.
He said, “We think that both technology, fuel cell and ICE, are complementary. Both technologies have their strengths and weaknesses, hydrogen ICE could be shortly in the market, fuel cells are the long-term approach but maybe won’t be relevant on vibrating applications. We will have room for both technologies.”
