Clean chemistry company Mattiq has announced a portfolio of novel, highly durable alternatives to iridium, a critical component in clean hydrogen production.
With iridium being a rare and costly element of proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysers, Mattiq is identifying new alternatives that could meet or exceed performances, with a much lower cost and greater availability.
Mattiq believe deploying iridium oxide alternatives is essential to support the acceleration of hydrogen production, particularly in the US with the Regional Hydrogen Hub programme.
