Masdar has signed an agreement with Airbus to collaborate on the development and growth of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), green hydrogen and direct air capture technologies.
Direct Air Capture technologies can enable the capturing of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) which could, in combination with hydrogen, be used to produce synthetic SAF.
Precedence Research estimates that the use of SAF based on green hydrogen and direct air capture can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 95% when compared with conventional jet fuel.
