Industry will only transition to hydrogen if it is required to do so, the Hydrogen UK Annual Conference has heard.
Kicking off the event in a keynote speech, Caroline Stancell, Executive Director, Hydrogen for Mobility, Europe and Africa at Air Products, called on the UK to set out “strong” legislation and mandates to accelerate the uptake of hydrogen.
“The UK must have policies that ensure it remains a stable and attractive investment [environment],” Stancell said. “Industry will only convert to hydrogen as an energy source if it is required to do so.”
