New Energy Technologies, Chevron Technology Ventures, Osaka Gas USA and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have invested in Starfire Energy’s new carbon free ammonia production technology as the company looks to scale up its operations.
The developer of modular chemical plants, based in Denver, Colorado, US, announced the closure of a major funding round today (12th April), with the proceeds set to be used to advance the development of its commercial-scale applications to decarbonise ammonia production and unlock its potential as a zero-carbon energy carrier.

Conventional ammonia production often leaves a significant carbon footprint. Starfire Energy leverages a patented catalysis technology that allows for the synthesis and cracking of carbon-free ammonia and hydrogen-leveraging renewable energy sources.
