MAHLE will supply automotive components to MAN Truck & Bus that are designed to meet the requirements of a hydrogen-powered truck.
MAN commissioned the Stuttgart-based firm to supply components for the hydrogen engine of its MAN hTGX truck, which encompasses a direct-injection engine with six cylinders and 383kW of power output.
MAHLE’s hydrogen power cell unit consists of piston, piston rings, piston pin and cylinder liner, whilst further components from the automotive company will also be used in the valve train.
H2 View understands that MAHLE has already conducted tests proving the capabilities of its components, backing up the “high maturity level and already convincing suitability for series production of modern hydrogen engine technology.”
