The FT Live’s Hydrogen Summit in London brought the categorisation of hydrogen production into the spotlight, asking the question, “should we look beyond colours?”
Margaux Moore, Head of Energy Transition Research and Venture Investments at Trafigura, told attendees that the “rainbow of hydrogen” has been a useful tool in recent years, however she said it now causes discourse between supports of green, blue and pink hydrogen.
Moore said, “When we are talking about large-scale adoption of hydrogen, we’re trying to commodify it. We should start moving away from colours and start talking about carbon intensity in numbers.”
