Lhyfe has today (June 27) announced its offshore hydrogen production pilot project has produced its first kilogrammes of hydrogen.
The Sealhyfe platform was towed 20km into the Atlantic and connected to the SEM-REV offshore testing site near Central Nantes, France, and as of June 20 (2023), has been producing hydrogen, marking a decisive milestone for Lhyfe.
Capable of producing 400kg of hydrogen per day, the compact platform utilises a 1MW electrolyser supplied by Plug Power, that will be tested in real-world conditions to study the platform’s movement, environmental stresses and validate its software.
