Lhyfe has started construction on its fifth green hydrogen production plant.
The French developer said its Croixrault facility in the Somme region of Hauts-de-France, would supply up to two tonnes of hydrogen per day from 2026.
Coming as the firm’s first site in northern France, Lhyfe plans to supply its green hydrogen output to mobility applications in the region.
The company also said the 5MW unit will help stabilise Hauts-de-France’s power grid, with the site able to module its electricity use according to wider power demand.
“We’re delighted to announce this new production site in Croixrault,” said Maud Augeai, Sales Director France at Lhyfe.
“As decarbonisation is synonymous with competitiveness, we can’t wait to use the hydrogen produced in Croixrault to contribute to the region’s energy transition, reindustrialisation and energy sovereignty.”
Lhyfe says the Croixrault will “complete” its coverage of France, with its western sites of Pays de la Loire, Brittany and Occitanie already producing and Auvergne Rhône-Aples under construction.
