Lhyfe has delivered 350kg of green hydrogen to Géométhane to be used in a salt cavern storage test in France.
The hydrogen was injected into salt caverns at the Manosque site in the south of France on June 13, taking just a day to complete the injection.
The salt cavern test represents the next stage of a major project led by the DLVAaggIo urban community and Géométhane, which is aiming to accelerate the decarbonisation of the Marseille-Fos-Sur-Mer industrial site.
Lhyfe’s hydrogen was injected into the system, which uses natural gas, and will remain there for observation for several weeks before being extracted and analysed. Lhyfe’s CEO and Founder, Matthieu Guesné, claimed the initiative will provide initial feedback for the project.
