Closing an exciting, informative day of discussion at H2 View’s North America Hydrogen Summit, Bill Elrick, Executive Director of the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP), reflected on the summit while looking ahead to the future.
Elrick said, “Hydrogen has changed entirely. It used to be the unicorn in the room, but I feel now it is a completely different ballgame.
“We know climate change and the urgency that can be seen around it is really pushing the momentum of hydrogen, fuel cells, and every component of this industry.
“The ultimate aim here is if we’re going to get the benefits of hydrogen and fuel cells, we’re going to have to make this a sustainable market. Without that, this all falls apart the minute we stop the subsidies. Knowing some folks are getting closer to that sustainability, feeling that momentum in this room and around the globe is amazing. At the same time, we have a lot of challenges in front of us.”
