The iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris, France was last month illuminated using hydrogen for the first time ever as part of a powerful image to showcase the capabilities of renewable hydrogen power. However, the spectacle was part of a larger project. “It was a strong signal to light up the Eiffel Tower as it is the symbol of the event, Le Paris de l’Hydrogène,” Louis-Noël Viviès, Managing Director of Energy Observer, told H2 View.
The event had been held by Energy Observer and featured a hydrogen exhibition village that grouped together a range of practical mobility applications and hydrogen systems for the first time. This was achieved through work with EODev, Toyota, Delanchy, Air Liquide, Chéreau, Alstom, Airbus, La Poste, Engie and Pragma Industries.
In fact, the main goal of this event was to highlight to the world that hydrogen is here now and is already capable of achieving grand things by changing age old traditions with innovative solutions. The illumination of the Eiffel tower carried a strong message – hydrogen can change the very identity of contemporary society.
