Lancaster’s ‘hydrogen city’ plans given boost with new partnership

Hydrogen production, refuelling and fuel cell systems are hoped to be added to the Californian City of Lancaster’s existing green energy grid, following an announced partnership with Japan-based Choshu Industries.

The partnership, unveiled yesterday (May 9), will initially seek to integrate Choshu’s ‘SHiPS’, a containerised hydrogen production and refuelling station system, and ‘MizTomo’, a stationary fuel cell power system into Lancaster’s Green Energy Microgrid (GEM) system.

Both ‘SHiPS’ and ‘MizTomo’ systems can be scaled, extending the City’s hydrogen capacity to other sectors.
