KHNP completes 39.6MW hydrogen fuel cell power plant in South Korea

Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power (KHNP) has completed the construction of a 39.6MW Incheon hydrogen fuel cell power plant in Dong-gu, South Korea after an investment of 254.3bn won ($224m).

The power plant will feature 90 units of Doosan’s 440kW hydrogen fuel cells with it capable of producing about 320 million kWh of electricity that can be used to power 110,000 households.

KHNP state that fuel cells, in addition to hydrogen cars, are one of two pillars of the industry leading the hydrogen economy.
