Spanish-based Jolt Solutions has plans to deploy a new technique for coating electrolyser electrodes in “under one minute” to support growing electrolytic hydrogen demand.
Dubbed Sparkfuze, the process developed by globally recognised research institute ICIQ uses solution combustion to deposit nanocrystal catalyst layers onto electrodes to increase performance and durability.
The exothermic reaction produces a “high ECSA (electrochemical surface area) catalyst” and fuses it direct into the top layer of substrate without damage.
