Japan Airlines partners with three hydrogen aviators to clean up regional fleets

Japan Airlines (JAL) and JAL Engineering Co. (JALEC) have partnered with three hydrogen aviators to explore cleaning up regional aircraft fleets.

Under three separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), JAL has teamed up with Germany’s H2FLY, US-based Universal Hydrogen and UK-US ZeroAvia to explore integrating hydrogen fuel cell solutions into its regional aircraft.

The three hydrogen aviators have all taken to the skies with their respective hydrogen-powered solutions over the course of 2023.
