International Hydrogen Trade Forum launched

Last Saturday (July 22), the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF) was launched during the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM14) meeting in India, as governments strive to accelerate international hydrogen trade.

Established by Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the Netherlands, the UAE, UK, US, Uruguay and the European Commission, the IHTF is aimed at providing a platform to foster dialogue between the governments on the emerging international hydrogen market.

Under the joint declaration, the governments have emphasised the importance of establishing international hydrogen supply trade corridors, with aims to transport substantial volumes of the energy carrier from renewable-rich regions and geological CO2 storage to areas with limited access.
