Intelligent Energy to open £7.1m 1.3MW fuel cell test facility in 2025

Intelligent Energy (IE) will open a £7.1m ($9.1m) 1.3MW fuel cell testing facility in the UK to support developments for aerospace and automotive industries next year.

The facility will allow the firm to test 1.3MW of fuel cells simultaneously, as it plans to expand its product line and customer support, using two test laboratories supplied by Finnish-based Proventia.

Located at the Chelveston Renewable Energy Park in Northamptonshire, the site will also host an Enapter AEM electrolyser which will use the park’s renewable energy to produce over 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per year for use in testing.
