The Asia Pacific region will receive a significant boost in the development of its hydrogen economy with INNIO selected to develop the first 100% hydrogen engine power plant, the company has said.
Aimed to showcase hydrogen’s potential in decarbonising heavy industry in Asia Pacific, the plant will be built at Hyosung Chemical Yongyeon Plant in Ulsan, South Korea, with it set to run on hydrogen produced as a byproduct at the chemical plant.
INNIO has said that the project will enter commercial operation in Q3 2022 and complete the demonstration by the end of 2022.
