INEOS and Daimler Truck kick off liquid hydrogen truck trials

INEOS Inovyn and Daimler Truck have begun customer trials using “Europe’s first” heavy-duty liquid hydrogen-powered truck.

Taking place over the next 12 months, the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Trucks are expected to make around 250 deliveries supporting PVC customers across Germany. H2 View understands that the vehicles benefit from a range of more than 1,000km and they can carry the same payload as a conventional diesel vehicle.

INEOS Inovyn is recognised as Europe’s PVC leader and the largest operator of industrial electrolysis, producing hydrogen across the continent. In 2023, the company became the “first” European company to have its renewable hydrogen fully audited with greenhouse gas (GHG) gas data certification.
