A stainless steel plant in India has started using green hydrogen produced on-site to cut its emissions.
Jindal Stainless (JSL) on Monday (March 4) started the “maiden usage” of green hydrogen in its plant in Hisar, Haryana.
Produced on site by an alkaline electrolyser with capacity to produce 350nm3/hr hydrogen using dedicated solar energy and storage, the use of green hydrogen is expected to cut around 54,000 tonnes of CO2 from the plant over 20 years.
