India is determined to scale-up its renewable energy and clean energy technologies as it looks to bolster its hydrogen economy – and now, the country’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has joined forces with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to accelerate the effort.
Under a signed strategic partnership, the duo on Sunday (Jan 16) said they will work closely to assess the potential role green hydrogen can play both as an enabler of the transition in India and as a new source of national energy exports.
In 2021 the company installed 13GW of renewables and has overall grown its capacity by over 53GW in the last five years, positioning it as one of the fastest growing renewable adapters in the world.
