IGD calls for early leak detection in compact electrolyser systems

Hydrogen operators should adopt advanced, integrated gas detection systems to ensure the safe expansion of containerised electrolyser systems, according to a new whitepaper.

Hosted on h2-view.com, the whitepaper by International Gas Detectors (IGD) said that integrated detection systems, capable of monitoring both hydrogen and oxygen, will be essential to prevent leaks and potential explosions in compact, confined electrolyser setups.

According to IGD, containerised electrolysers – often praised for their flexibility and modularity – bring specific safety challenges.
