Speaking at New York Climate Week yesterday, Ignacio Galán, Chairman of Iberdrola, confirmed the company’s commitment to green hydrogen through the creation of a new business unit.
With a goal to be a world leader in hydrogen technology, the company has joined the technological challenge of producing and supplying hydrogen from clean energy sources, using 100% renewable electricity in its electrolysis process.
The Spanish multinational electric utility has however already expressed an interest in the clean fuel. With an investment of nearly €150m, Iberdrola is developing what it believes to be the largest green hydrogen plant in Puertollano, Spain.
