At Hyvolution 2024, the standardisation and certification of hydrogen was the theme of the day (January 31).
Laurent Antoni, Executive Director at IPHE, claimed, “Hydrogen needs rules, not colours,” in order to see the development of the entire hydrogen value chain.
“Words like ‘renewable,’ ‘sustainable,’ ‘clean,’ and ‘low carbon’ are non-descriptive and thus have different meaning for different stakeholders,” he added.
“The molecule has the same properties regardless of the method of production. We want to ensure low-emission hydrogen, and we need to rely on the robust approach to quantify this approach.”
