HYTING has developed an air heating system that is capable of turning hydrogen and oxygen from air into heat.
Pending on patents, the company has “simplified the use of hydrogen by using flameless oxidation to generate heat.” Its catalytic process is safe, carbon-free, produces only water as a byproduct and is highly efficient.
The solution’s modular, scalable design is expected to be suitable for industrial, commercial and residential applications, with outputs ranging from 10-300kW. Hydrogen will be supplied at the same typical pressures of natural gas supplies, at around 1.5 bar, meaning costly and energy-intensive compression and storage isn’t used.
Prototypes are currently being tested, with first customer trials anticipated for the end of the year (2024) in Germany.
