Hypersonix Launch Systems has received a boost in the development of its hydrogen-fuelled platform with the Federal Government providing $2.95m to support its development.
The project, titled ‘DART CMP Airframe – a reusable hypersonic platform’, is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that can travel at hypersonic speeds up to Mach 12 (12 times the speed of sound) and is powered by a SPARTAN hydrogen fuelled scramjet engine.
By using hydrogen, the UAV is granted significant power whilst also being sustainable helping to dawn a new age in space aerospace transportation.
