A Queensland-based aerospace company is set to receive nearly $1m of Australian Government funding to fast track development of its reusable hydrogen-powered hypersonic scramjet, capable of placing small satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
Hypersonix Launch Systems has been working closely with BOC South Pacific, a leading provider of hydrogen solutions in the region, on its technology.
The project will be boosted by $956,000 of government funding, through the Accelerating Commercialisation programme, to help Hypersonix develop a world first protype engine called ‘Spartan’.
Hypersonix co-founder and Head of Research and Development, Dr. Michael Smart, is a leading Australian aerospace engineer specialising in scramjet technology.
