Hydrologiq deploys hydrogen-powered generator to UK road construction site

A hydrogen fuel cell-powered generator has been deployed to a Lancashire, UK, National Highways construction site in a government backed trial to uncover challenges in replacing diesel with hydrogen.

Kier Highways has today (July 26) revealed its A585 Windy Harbour to Skippool site in Poulton-le-Fylde, is playing host to the 110kVA hydrogen-powered generator from Hydroglogiq, which could cut emissions from the site.

The newly announced trial seeks to build a platform to streamline deployment of hydrogen generators; prototyping a monitoring system for any hydrogen generator; and test the developments in a real-world environment.
