A H2 View webinar has heard how hydrogen could play a key role in microgrid applications to offer decarbonised grid stability.
Microgrids are small-scale systems that work independently or in conjunction with main electrical grids. In the context of hydrogen, renewable energy could be used to power an electrolyser to produce hydrogen that will be stored and converted back to electricity when needed.
Burns & McDonnell’s Hydrogen Technology Manager, Megan Reusser, explained that microgrid systems can offer grid-independent power solutions that can minimise power disruption and improve reliability.
