Hydrogenious awarded over €70m in IPCEI funding

One of Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies’ developments has secured a €72.5m ($79m) grant after being recognised as an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI).

Hydrogenious LOHC Infra Bavaria will utilise the grant for its Green Hydrogen @ Blue Danube project, with 70% of the funding provided by the German Federal Government and 30% from the State of Bavaria.

Starting in 2028, the LOHC ReleasePLANT will be built and supply up to 1,800 tonnes of green hydrogen to off takers in the Bavraian industrial area. The company’s liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) technology allows large quantities of green hydrogen to be transported to southern Germany, whilst leveraging existing fuel infrastructure.

H2 View understands the hydrogen could also be injected into pipeline networks such as HyPipe Bavaria, which may be further expanded through planned pipeline connections to the German Hydrogen Core Network and the European Hydrogen Backbone.
