Australian research has highlighted a lack of hydrogen skills and training capabilities to achieve newly-legislated carbon reduction targets.
A study by Swinburne University of Technology’s Victorian Hydrogen Hub (VH2) has said, delivering education and training through registered organisation can protect workers transitioning into the hydrogen economy from being locked out of the industry.
According to the research, the Australian skills and education landscape is not keeping pace with the green hydrogen industry, which it said is causing a rush to “fill the gaps,” suggesting that short course and micro-credentialling are being used, although risk fragmenting the landscape.
