Plug Power’s hydrogen fuel cell technology helped international food business ARYZTA increase its average picks-per-hour by 100% in 2018 and is on track to further increase that productivity by 133% in 2020, the company announced today.
The New York-based fuel cell manufacturer has said that its technology has driven a tremendous increase in fleet productivity for ARYZTA and has set itself ambitious goals for future productivity.
Joseph Holy, Director, Logistics at ARYZTA, commented, “The use of the fuel cells in our Romeoville, IL distribution centre has been transformative, and has made the site an example for others.”
Plug Power’s GenDrive fuel cells have allowed the food business to maintain constant power at all times, keeping their vehicles running at full speed throughout an entire shift. Fuelling a GenDrive fuel cell takes minutes at a dedicated fuelling stations at the customer facility.
