A new hydrogen refuelling station has been launched in Victoria, Australia, which is hoped to enable research into the energy carrier’s potential for mobility.
Established by Australia’s national science agency CSIRO and Swinburne University of Technology’s Victorian Hydrogen Hub (VH2), the station at CSIRO’s Clayton site is set to showcase the real-world application of hydrogen in transport.
Costing AUD $2.5m ($1.6m), the station can generate up to 20kg of green hydrogen per day via electrolysis. It has an 80kg storage capacity, which CSIRO says is enough to refuel more than 10 cars.
