Electric vehicles on UK roads can now access hydrogen-powered charging at a service station on the M74 in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Since December 12, 2023, EV drivers visiting Cairn Lodge Services – part of Westmorland Family – have had access to six EV chargers from SWARCO Smart Charging, powered by green hydrogen until a suitable electrical grid connection is established.
Westmorland partnered with GeoPura for the installation of its hydrogen power unit (HPU) to provide power to the charging units.
