A new venture aiming to make hydrogen cost competitive has named Florence Lambert as its CEO, effective 1st March.
Schlumberger New Energy, French government-funded technological research organisation the CEA and other partners announced in January the European Commission’s approval for the formation of clean hydrogen production technology venture Genvia.
A unique private-public partnership model, Genvia will focus accelerating the development and first industrial deployment of the CEA high-temperature reversible solid oxide electrolyser technology, as the most efficient and cost-effective technology for clean hydrogen production.
The venture said its technology design will enable a 30% higher electricity conversion efficiency per kg of hydrogen produced, bringing the cost of producing clean hydrogen down to a level that competes aggressively with other sources of energy.
