Plans for a new green hydrogen project in Sardinia have today (16th Feb) been confirmed by Enel Green Power and Saras.
With a hope of decarbonising energy-intensive industries, the companies will use a 20MW electrolyser powered by renewable energy to produce green hydrogen.
Green hydrogen produced at the site will be used as a raw at Saras’ refinery at the Sarroch industrial site in the province of Cagliari.
Commenting on the collaboration, Salvatore Bernabei, CEO of Enel Green Power, said, “The signing of this memorandum of intent, confirms the Enel Group’s commitment to promoting the development of green hydrogen in Italy and worldwide, accelerating the energy transition.”
