Hydrogen powers Lidl’s French supermarket deliveries

Lidl has been using a hydrogen fuel cell truck in its French logistics operation since the start of this year.

The supermarket chain signed the rental of the 26-tonne Hyundai Xcient truck in 2022, as part of the wider Loire-Atlantique green hydrogen-powered logistics platform in Carquefou.

Now delivering to Lidl’s supermarkets in the Nantes region, the truck, equipped with a 100kW fuel cell has a range of 400km, utilising refuelling infrastructure at the multi-fuel station in La Roche-sur-Yon.
