Hydrogen-powered trucks for the delivery of hydrogen fuel – Hyundai to put XCIENT trucks on roads of California

With $3.5m of US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funding, Hyundai has revealed it will deploy five of its hydrogen-powered XCIENT Fuel Cell-electric trucks in California, US.

H2 View understands, hydrogen refuelling station operator, First Element Fuel will deploy the Class-8 heavy-duty trucks to deliver liquified hydrogen to its refuelling station for the next five years.

The US EPA funding comes from the 2021 Targeted Airshed Grant (TAG), which aims to reduce air pollution in area of the US with the highest levels of ambient ozone and fine particulate matter pollution.
