The UK Government has launched new regulations that will see farming and construction vehicles switch to hydrogen.
As part of the government’s scheme to support building sites and agricultural businesses go greener, hydrogen-powered tractors, diggers and forklifts will be used on roads in the UK. The consultation will run for four weeks up until April 24, 2024.
Last year (2023), the government permitted JCB to use its hydrogen combustion diggers on UK roads. The enabling road use of hydrogen-powered non-road mobile machinery consultation will expand this proposal across the entire sector.
